Your long-term satisfaction with our product is important to us.  Proshield Swimming Pool Epoxy has a well-proven track record and is manufactured from industrial-rated quality ingredients. We confidently offer our clients a standard 3-year warranty (and an extended 5-year warranty option) that the product will not peel or crack, provided that the product is installed according to our application instructions on an original substrate that is solid, watertight and crack-free.

You can rest assured that no teething problems will ruin your investment. If treated correctly, this product will provide you with a clean and easy-to-maintain pool for many years.

Our warranty is not an indication of expected lifespan but ensures peace of mind that you will have free support to overcome any initial product related problems for a considerable time after application. An expected lifespan under correctly and regularly maintained conditions of eight to ten years is quite possible as can be seen from the testimonials on our home page . Many clients have reported even longer lifespan periods whilst a few were able to reduce the lifespan to less than 5 years due to reasons as indicated below. See our Conditions of Sale below.

We encourage you to independently verify our reputation at Hellopeter.com

DIY Applications, Referred Helpers and Listed Dealers

Our DIY clients can register for our warranty offering subject to the following requirements:

  1. That the quality checklist and photos as requested on the last two pages of our application instructions are filled out, signed and emailed (or uploaded online) to us within 7 days of installation completion and within 90 days of purchase. (Please keep the proof of your purchase.) We will file your quality checklist and photos for future reference.

  2. A water test result sheet should be filed with us within 30 days after the swimming pool was filled with water and has been chemically stabilized. The test results must specifically include test results for Total Hardness (or Calcium Hardness), alkalinity, pH and chlorine. In areas where a test facility is not available (most pool shops will test free of charge), you may obtain a Bioguard 5-Way or Insta Test 6 Plus test strip kit from us and submit a clear photo of the test strip results next to the colours on the test strip bottle.

Please ensure that you have read our application instructions carefully to avoid costly mistakes.

Clients may also register for an extended 5-year product replacement warranty after  submitting and acceptance of the information as listed above  Click Here for more info.

All warranty claims will be verified against proof of purchase directly from Pool Solutions Epoxy Coatings Pty Ltd and will be applicable towards the buyer who is also personally responsible for the submission of the documents.  Our warranty is not extended to third parties who did not purchase directly from Pool Solutions Epoxy Coatings Pty Ltd.

Buying from registered (listed dealers) resellers and contractors:

Listed dealers and contractors are independent business owners re-selling and installing our epoxy pool paint after undergoing a vetting process. Listed dealers have a back-to-back product replacement warranty with the manufacturer (Pool Solutions Epoxy Coatings Pty Ltd) in the unlikely case of a batch related product failure. Please inquire from the service provider (registered dealer or contractor) in case of a warranty claim who will investigate and offer after-sale service as per sales-agreement.

A water test result sheet including a test for Total Hardness (or Calcium Hardness), Alkalinity, pH and Chlorine should be obtained and submitted to the dealer/contractor who did the installation within 30 days after filling and chemically balancing the water to avoid unnecessary disputes at a later stage.

Referred worker/applicator: When making use of an experienced private labourer to help you with the application whom we may refer in certain areas, please keep in mind that this is purely offered as an additional help to a DIY client. The client is responsible to supervise the work and quality to satisfaction. The water test report as required under point 2 above must still be submitted to us for warranty purposes.

Private installers: Unregistered/unlisted installers buying our product to re-sell and/or install our product for third party clients has not been trained or vetted to become a listed contractor. Pool Solutions Epoxy Coatings will take no responsibility for installation failures should it occur as we have no assurance that the installer adhered to our installation and quality requirements, or have properly informed the customer about the correct maintenance requirements with regards to water balance etc.

(Private installers buying from us for the purpose of re-selling need to adhere to points 1 and 2 above to be eligible for a product replacement warranty towards their clients as set our on the last two pages of our application instruction manual. All warranty claims will be verified against proof of purchase directly from Pool Solutions Epoxy Coatings Pty Ltd.)

Recommendations to Prolong the Lifespan of the Paint Layer

Chemicals to use

Our epoxy pool paint is acid and chlorine resistant when these chemicals are added as per manufacturers instructions to maintain normal recommended water conditions.

Salt Chlorinators

Our product also works with salt chlorinators when used with minimum required salt additions to maintain water clear conditions, see our FAQ page for recommendations on chemicals and the use of salt chlorinators. Salt chlorinators might reduce the lifespan of the product.

Colour stability

A measure of fading and of colour depth reduction over years might occur and is normal to pool paint products exposed to this chemical-rich environment and UV radiation. The general appearance of the coating will however always offer that smooth, clean look for many years until the natural thinning of the coating may require refurbishing with new top-coat layers. Numerous clients have reported back to us after 10 years of usage and were very satisfied with the product performance.

Important Aftercare Instructions

Reverse osmotic water pressure due to structural porosity and outside water pressure:

Reverse osmotic pressure or damp migration due to structural porosity and/or high water table pressures can result in small blisters (2- 5mm bubbles) forming in the coating at a later stage after initial application. Sometimes water might be visible when opening these small bubbles or a gaseous discharge can be noted. Pool Solutions Epoxy Coatings Pty Ltd does not offer a warranty against external water related problems and certain precautions are recommended to minimise this risk.

It is essential to ensure that the structure is dry and the surrounding environment is taken into consideration. A nearby ocean, any rivers, dams or lakes in the vicinity, hill sides, high irrigation areas around the swimming pool are all environmental influences that may cause water accumelation against the substrate. Several water-sealing precautions are available that can be implemented on the pool surface to help minimise the risk of blistering due to outside water pressure before application of the epoxy paint.

See our installation instructions on how to test and inspect the pool surface beforehand to determine if moist is currently present in the structure. This is done by means of inspection holes or as a minimum precaution, using a clear plastic sheet to test for inherent moisture levels (or a by utilising moist meter). For less critical moist penetration and slow water migration through the substrate, porous grout (mosaic areas ), through paving or high-level irrigation around the swimming pool, a product called PCT66 water repellent (available from Pool Solutions Epoxy Coatings) may be used for pre-treating the surface. We strongly recommend this product when applying paint on a new concrete/cement-plastered surface which might be prone to water absorption. Other products are available from suppliers like Sika, Coprox etc. for more critical substrate sealing.

Applicators should evaluate the structure before application of the epoxy coat as described above and according to our instructions to determine if it is a risk for the applied epoxy layer. If the structure seems to leak water from the outside inwards on a large scale while the pool is empty and during the sanding and preparation process, this need to be addressed first in order to implement special sealing techniques to try and minimize the risk, or it might be decided not to apply an epoxy coat at all on such structure.

In most cases where this problem did occur, small 2-5mm bubbles appeared that stayed intact for the lifespan of the coating, still offering a generally aesthetically good appearance and will normally only be visible and detectable by closer inspection.
