Dealers are invited to test and market our unique and proven EPOXY POOL PAINT SYSTEM. Epoxy coatings for swimming pools is a rapidly growing market in South Africa.

This solution satisfies a large niche segment between the conventional, stain-ridden marble plaster and more expensive fiberglass alternative at a much lower cost implication.  from 1998 we have been specializing in the marketing and application of quality epoxy coatings for the swimming pool market specifically.

Our product is specifically developed for submerged conditions and is not a derivative from the traditional floor coating industry formulations. We offer a specialized primer epoxy, tested to offer bond strength up to 400psi to marbelite, cement, concrete or fiberglass and a topcoat epoxy that is UV resistant, water and chemical resistant to a high degree to ensure maximum lifespan under normally maintained conditions.

There are number of other solutions on the market from generally available cement and water-based solutions to flooring epoxies sold as swimming pool epoxy paint. After twenty years in the market with no compromise on quality, our methods have been refined for optimum success and our product offers the best and latest available technologies available.

Demand

Many customers have experienced the maintenance problems related to conventional marble plaster and are looking for a "POOL PAINT" solution to battle the continuous algae control and staining problems, or just to renew that old stained swimming pool.  More than 800 000 swimming pools in South Africa provides ample business opportunities for the expansion of an existing business or to start up a new venture in your area.  

Normal off-the shelve cement-based "paint" solutions is not the answer for a sustainable, algae-resistant paint solution. Our specially formulated, 4-layer epoxy paint offers deep penetration and bonding and a gloss enamel finish. We manufacture our own unique and advanced 4-layer epoxy pool paint system. Our epoxy ensures durability by utilizing no less than four layers of epoxy (resin and hardener combinations) strengthened by a high content of silica quarts, UV stabilized pigments and other additives.

Our top-coat formulation is a high-solids (96%), almost solvent-free formulation with the latest curing agent technologies offering high chemical resistance, non-yellowing (UV) qualities and water-spot resistance (our product will not yellow from early rain or high humidity conditions shortly after application). Within 3-4 hours (summer temperatures), rain will not damage the newly applied coating.

In the past, fiberglass linings and re-marbelite solutions were the only options available to solve maintenance problems. To re-surface marble plastered, cement plastered or gunnite pool surfaces comes with a steep price tag.  Epoxy coatings now offer a very cost-effective solution to these problems.  

With new swimming pools being built every day, this is an ever growing market as many of today's new swimming pools will become our business within the next 2 -10 years. A listed contractor must have a drive towards customer service with a solid capital backing to sustain on-going business and to offer a workmanship guarantee to existing clients for 3-years.

Our product has been tested by our own installation teams, dealers and DIY clients on more than 20 000 swimming pools country-wide with a 99% success rate. Failures may occur in 1-2% of swimming pools due to unforeseen circumstances like weather interference, pool structural deficiencies, excessive reverse osmosis through porous structures etc. Many of these problems can however be minimized as experience increases and can be detected beforehand by the experienced applicator. We are there to help you and guide you through installation challenges. Even if you run into these unforeseen mishaps, no matter what, rest assured that all our dealers enjoy the benefit of product replacement at factory cost, that is our agreement with all customers within the three years after application.

Remember this is a hard and glossy, but relatively thin-layer solution that needs a solid, problem-free surface to sustain the coating. If structural repairs are necessary, this must be resolved first. If these type of surface preparation and/or repairs are not within your expertise, do not epoxy-coat the pool.

Our swimming pool paint can also be applied on fiberglass, the solidness and undamaged substrate is of course essential for the success of the final result. Some "pool paint" or "epoxy" products are offered off-the-shelve, but many customers have tried these and soon realized that there is pool paint, and then there is a specialized epoxy pool coating.  The one offers no guarantee and a very short life expectancy of 6-18 months. A well-developed and specialized epoxy product could offer up to 8 or even 10 or longer years of service.  Maintenance and refurbishing the epoxy pool paint layer after this period is cost-effective and easy as only the top-coat layers need to be sanded and re-coated. Spot-repairs are also possible. Any fiberglass, cement-type finish, concrete or gunnite can be coated with our pool paint, it stick to almost anything offering a good mechanical bond.

Registration, Training and cost

Two possible options are available to applicant dealers:

1. Existing contractors and businesses with a track record related to the swimming pool, construction or coatings market may buy our products at DIY price level for the first three (3) full installations to acquaint themselves with our product quality, application methods and to test the product performance to their satisfaction before committing to a signed contractual agreement with Pool Solutions. Thereafter products will be offered at dealers’ price level.  References and contact details of your first three clients will be required by Pool Solutions to finally approve the dealership application. The dealer must obtain his own clients for this trial period.
   
   This option is exclusive and solely offered at the discretion of Pool Solutions and might not be offered to all applicants. Please note that we will need information about your business, proof of address, proof of business bank details etc. and may ask for references from your existing business operations. 
   
   
   
2. Start-up Training Package for New Entrepreneurs
   
   Our normal start-up package offered to new business start-ups consists of a training workshop. Applicants without a track record in business operations will have to attend our training workshop in Pretoria for 2-3 days during which time we will do an installation on a swimming pool, provide you with theory and documentation.
   
   The cost for attending our training workshop is R 25 000 and includes your first starter pack (worth R 8 000) to do your first customer installation. New dealers must be able do effective marketing and obtain their own clients.
   

REQUIREMENTS

Dealers will need a presentable medium size utility van, two workers, some hardware, a few basic tools and some good old determination and motivation. You will need adequate capital to start marketing and sustain your business for at least 6 months to 12 months without profit until your marketing and advertising campaign starts to sustain your business with constant sales. If you do not have R 50 000 or more  available in start-up capital, you will probably not be able to get this business of the ground. Please note that this business is seasonal and more sales can be expected in the second half of the year and mainly in the last quarter.

If you comply to the following criteria, you are a candidate to become a successful contractor/dealer for a quality product:

1. Must be the registered owner of a presentable, late model utility van to be utilized for installations.
   
   
2. Must have capital to buy equipment like grinders, pool pump to drain pools, and general hardware etc.
   
   
3. New entrepreneurs must be willing to pay for training and your first starter pack
